	World Youth Day An idea originated by Pope John Paul II when he invited the youth of the world to join him in Rome 1985.
	15 - 21st July, 2008 Sydney, Australia

	We are nearly fully prepared ... Over 70 young people from Salford Diocese are travelling to Sydney. A programme of preparation events are being held at various parishes throughout the months leading up to the event. Further details are in the diocesan newsletter (see below) or check with the organisers. < The WYD cross being received on an (unusually wet!) morning on the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia, 21st August 2007.
