Diocese at World Youth Day |

103 young people along with their youth leaders from
Salford Diocese were delegates at the World Youth Day.

The
group were hosted by the parish of St. Laurentius, Arrweiler,
in the diocese of Trier.
Everyone was involved in a well planned programme and given a
very warm welcome
in the homes of parishioners.

St.
Laurentius had a special World Youth Day Cross made for the occasion.
As part of the programme, a group of young people carried the cross
up the hillside.

The
Salford banner was made by a young person as a gift to our host
parish.

The
group moved to the parish of St. Antonius in the Diocese of Cologne
for the start of the World Youth Day programme.

Five
days of festivities culminated in the
Papal Vigil and Mass and involved over
1 million young people from all over the world.
