'White Banner' Encircles the School

On Friday 1st July, Pupils from St John Fisher and St. Thomas More High School, Colne, Lancashire showed their support for the Make Poverty History Campaign by coming out, year by year, and encircling the school with their large white banner (signed by supporters) and chanting 'Make Poverty History'.

They were joined by staff, parents, governors and friends.

It is estimated that over 750 in total took part. Creating a fantastic atmosphere while at the same time conveying the important message promoting the eradication of world poverty.

White Banner goes to Edinburgh Rally

Photographed here are 12 students, representing the school, who went to the Edinburgh on Saturday 2nd July with the banner to join about 200,000 supporters in the pre-G8 rally which sought to mobilise the leaders of the eight richest countries in the world to change their policies towards the worlds poorest countries - and hence to rid the world of poverty.
