Martin Barry has been choirmaster and
director of music at St John's Cathedral since 1995.
He studied Modern
and Medieval Languages and Computer Speech and Language Processing
at Cambridge University, and moved to Manchester in 1989 to take up
the role of lecturer in phonetics at Manchester University, where
he remained until 2008. He was head of the Department of Linguistics
and English Language from 2002 to 2008, and retains a connection with
the University as honorary lecturer in phonetics. He now works full
time as one of the UK's tiny band of experts in forensic speech analysis.
Martin is a former editor of the Journal of the International Phonetic
Association, and was the pronunciation editor for the most recent
edition of The Chambers Dictionary (2008).
Martin is active as a composer of liturgical music, and some of his
compositions are published by GIA Publications, by Decani Music and
by the Society of St Gregory.

Anthony
Hunt is the Organist of St. Johns Cathedral. He
studied the organ under Simon Leach and Richard Lea, and before
moving to Salford worked freelance in over twenty churches in his
native Liverpool.
He read French and Latin at Manchester University, and in 1995 was
elected to the organ scholarship at
St. Johns. He became the Cathedrals organist in September
2000.
He is a regular recitalist, both in Manchester and elsewhere in
the UK, and abroad, in Paris and Montbrison,
France. He is also in demand as an accompanist, and has played in
many broadcasts on television and radio.

Daniel
Bath deputises as director of music and accompanist,
and has written many pieces of music sung by the choir. Daniel read
music at Clare College, Cambridge and lives in Todmorden with his
wife, Ali, and four children.
He teaches piano and voice, and directs choirs, including Halifax
Chamber Choir and Calderdale Youth Choir. He performs as a jazz
and classical pianist and harpsichordist and is musical director
of the Actors' Workshop Youth Theatre in Halifax, where he is leading
some ground-breaking work in youth opera.
Daniel is a composer of opera, film music, theatre music, songs,
and Catholic liturgical music. He is currently studying Indian classical
singing, and his diverse musical interests are reflected in his
own compositions.
